AFACIAL – the unordinary slavic glow we all need

„Great skin doesn’t happen by chance, it happens by appointment“; AFACIAL

invitation

If you’ve lived in Vienna long enough, you know them all. The classic beauty salons that have been following the same patterns for years. White walls, maybe a few beige accents, a touch of minimalism, sometimes Mediterranean tiles, sometimes, unfortunately, a rather unappealing attempt at being „Instagram-friendly.“ Especially in recent years, this Mediterranean-minimalist trend has popped up everywhere in Vienna. Lots of creamy white, lots of stone-look surfaces, a few dried flowers in the corner, and there’s always a tray of lemon water somewhere. It’s nice. Really. But let’s be honest: It doesn’t surprise anyone anymore. And then there’s Afacial.

A cosmetic studio that doesn’t try to fit in. A cosmetic studio that simply does its own thing. A cosmetic studio that came to Vienna with its own unique Slavic twist and suddenly brings something that’s rarely been seen here before. It isn’t just a beauty salon. It is a feeling. It is a place where beauty is suddenly fun again. And yes – I’m being completely honest. Afacial is probably one of the most aesthetically pleasing beauty salons in all of Vienna.

And let’s be honest: We care about that.

Welcome to the Glow Club

– the look & the vibe

Before we even talk about treatments, we need to talk about one thing: the look of the cosmetic studio. Because it’s truly something special.

When you walk into Afacial, you immediately notice that someone had an eye for design. No boring spa beige, no sterile white, but a mix of colors that you wouldn’t normally combine—and yet they work perfectly here. Blue. Purple. Pink. Little pops of color everywhere, creating a cohesive look that’s both playful and elegant. It’s modern, it’s cool, but it’s not cold. It feels like a place where you’d love to spend time. And then there’s this detail that I absolutely love: The Afacial logo is literally engraved into the wall. Not stuck on. Not printed on a sign. Engraved. That’s a statement.

This is that little design detail where you immediately realize that someone here understands how brand aesthetics work. Afacial is also located right in Vienna’s third district, just steps from the Stadtpark. A location that feels perfect for exactly this kind of place.

the slavic vibe

– comfort & connection

You walk in, hear music, someone’s frothing matcha, someone’s laughing, someone’s telling a story. And this is precisely the next point that makes Afacial so special. In many Viennese beauty salons, everything is very secluded. Individual cubicles, closed doors, absolute silence. Afacial does things differently.

Here, there’s a large treatment room. Several treatment beds. Several treatments simultaneously. I know that sounds unusual to many Viennese at first. But actually, this is a concept that’s completely normal in many Slavic countries. You lie next to each other, receive your treatment, and talk. You chat. You exchange experiences. And who knows – maybe your future best friend will be lying on the lounger next to you? That would be like fate. Of course, the cosmetic studio also has private rooms for those who prefer some peace and quiet.

But I would really recommend experiencing the true atmosphere of the cosmetic studio for yourself. Because that’s exactly what makes this place so special.

My visit to Afacial

– an evening that couldn’t have been better

My appointment at Afacial was on a regular evening.

I walked in, was immediately greeted warmly, and my esthetician for the evening was Shilat. And I’ll tell you honestly: She’s an absolute sweetheart. We clicked right away. You know that feeling sometimes—you meet someone and within two minutes it feels like you’ve known each other forever. That’s exactly how it was with Shilat. Before we even talked about my skin, a matcha was suddenly in front of me.

And I have to mention this. This matcha was truly aesthetically pleasing. I know that might sound trivial, but it’s precisely these little details that make Afacial special. It was a truly perfect little moment—matcha in hand, a cool cosmetic studio, relaxing music. The perfect start to a beauty evening.

Before we started the treatment, Shilat and I talked briefly about my skin. Many of you know that I have eczema. This means that my skin can react more sensitively to some treatments or products than other people’s. That’s why I’m always a little cautious with new treatments. And I think Shilat sensed that immediately. That’s why we decided together to do a Hydrafacial first, to see how my skin would react. I assured her that I know my skin very well by now—but I found it incredibly nice how attentive she was during my facial.

It wasn’t about getting a treatment done quickly. It was about making sure my skin felt comfortable.

The treatment

– step by step to a glow

The treatment began with a thorough cleansing. My skin was cleansed three times to ensure that even the tiniest makeup particles were removed. And then came my personal favorite moment: the hot towel. I love warm towels on my face. It feels incredibly relaxing. Don’t worry if you don’t like it too hot—Shilat always asks about the temperature beforehand.

Something I noticed throughout the entire treatment:

She kept checking in to make sure everything was comfortable, the temperature was right, and my skin felt good. This attentiveness is something you really notice at Afacial. Next came the famous Hydrafacial suction device. It is indeed a bit loud, but completely painless. Then we moved on to the extractions. After that, we had an exfoliation to further refine the skin. And then we continued with the actual Hydrafacial treatment.

Mask, light therapy

& a face full of glow

After the Hydrafacial, a soothing mask was applied. At first, my face tingled a little – but after a few minutes, my skin completely relaxed. You could really feel it absorbing everything. During this, I also received light therapy. This therapy uses different LED colors, which have different effects on the skin. Blue light has an antibacterial effect and is particularly helpful for blemishes. Red light can stimulate collagen production and support skin regeneration. Yellow light soothes the skin and reduces redness. Blue light was used on my face to calm my skin.

Then came another step that I found particularly exciting. Hyaluronic acid was injected directly into my pores using a special machine.

The result: Extremely moisturized. To finish, I received a rich moisturizer. Sunscreen wasn’t necessary that evening because it was already dark. But believe me: Use sunscreen. Always. In a few years, you’ll thank yourself.

After the facial treatment, I had this gorgeous glow. You know that look. Some might say, „You look like you’ve got butter on your face.“ But that’s exactly what we want. We want our skin to be nourished. To glow. To look healthy. And that’s precisely the effect my skin had after my Afacial appointment.

The secret of Afacial

– the Lutronic laser

But there’s another reason why Afacial is so exciting in Vienna. Something that very few cosmetic studios in the city actually offer: the Lutronic laser.

This laser is one of the most advanced technologies in the field of skin rejuvenation. The Lutronic laser uses so-called thulium laser technology, which delivers targeted energy to the deeper layers of the skin, generating small microthermal pulses. These pulses stimulate the skin to produce new collagen and elastin fibers, visibly improving structure, firmness, and overall appearance.

What’s special about it: The Lutronic laser is a non-ablative laser system. This means that the skin’s surface is not damaged while the deeper layers are stimulated. This results in visible improvements with minimal downtime.

The laser can help with, among other things: fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin texture, hyperpigmentation and sun damage, acne scars, dull skin. During the treatment, tiny microchannels are created in the skin, stimulating natural regeneration and boosting collagen production. The result is skin that appears smoother, more radiant, and more even. And it is precisely these kinds of technologies that demonstrate Afacial is not just a beautiful cosmetic studio. It is also technically state-of-the-art.

Why afacial combines treatments

– quality and time saving

Another aspect that truly sets Afacial apart is the way treatments are combined. In many cosmetic studios, you get one treatment per appointment. Perhaps a Hydrafacial. Perhaps a laser treatment. And for everything else, you need separate appointments. At this salon, the concept is different.

Here, various methods are deliberately combined to achieve maximum results. Laser. Hydrafacial. Peels. LED therapy. Everything is individually tailored to your skin. This means: Where you would need two or three appointments at other cosmetic studios, at Afacial you can often have everything done in a single visit.

And that’s precisely what modern skincare is all about. Treatments that don’t work in isolation – but together. The skin is first cleansed, prepared, and activated before more intensive technologies are used. This allows active ingredients to be absorbed more effectively, and the skin often responds much more positively to the treatment. This interplay of different methods not only ensures faster results but also a more lasting effect.

Instead of individual steps, Afacial creates a well-thought-out treatment chain – almost like a tailor-made treatment for your skin’s exact current needs.

my summary

– slavic glow we all need

There are many beauty salons in Vienna. So many. But only a few places truly have character. Afacial is one of those places. A salon with personality. With design. With atmosphere. A place where you don’t just get a treatment. You arrive, drink a matcha, listen to music, chat a bit – and leave with glowing skin. And maybe, just maybe, with a new friend from the next treatment bed. That would be the most beautiful glow of all.

What I particularly liked about Afacial is this feeling of lightness. Beauty isn’t made complicated here; it simply feels good. You can tell that the people who work here love their jobs and are genuinely interested in skin. It’s not a place where you’re rushed through. They take their time, talk about skin, try things out, and discover together what really works.

And that’s precisely what makes the difference. Afacial isn’t just an appointment in the calendar – it’s a little moment for yourself.

A place where you can briefly escape from everyday life, let yourself be pampered, and then go home with that very special feeling: refreshed, relaxed, and a little bit more radiant than before.
