That’s exactly how it was for me after my first Brazilian lymphatic drainage treatment at Cosmos Cosmetic in Vienna. And no, I’m really not exaggerating. This experience changed my life. And I mean that completely seriously.
We’re all kind of going through this phase right now, aren’t we? We want to feel good. Not just look beautiful, but feel lighter from the inside out. Support our bodies. Focus less on „quick fixes“ and more on things that actually make a difference. We pay attention to our diet, try to drink enough water, exercise more, want to stress our bodies less, and at the same time look effortlessly beautiful. Firmer. More defined. Less puffy.
And that’s exactly where Brazilian lymphatic drainage comes in. I’d heard so much about it. All those before-and-after results. Women who suddenly look like they’ve just returned from a spa vacation. Cosmos Cosmetic’s studio is located in the heart of Vienna’s first district – somewhat hidden away on a side street right next to St. Stephen’s Cathedral, on the first floor. And honestly, from the outside, you’d never guess what awaits you inside.
As soon as the door opens, you’re immediately struck by the first „wow“ moment. I know tastes differ – but this interior? It’s totally my style. Stately, bold, elegant, and somehow modern at the same time. Exactly the kind of aesthetic that makes you think: Okay, I’d love to stay here longer. It has that luxurious „hidden gem“ vibe that I love. Not loud. Not over the top. Just simply beautiful.
I received an incredibly warm welcome from Vinka at Cosmos Cosmetic and immediately felt at ease. There was no stressful rush, but rather a sense of „you can finally relax.“ Right next to the treatment room is a changing area with lockers where you can store everything – including jewelry. Especially if you wear a lot of jewelry (hello, me!), I found this really convenient.
You’re given an incredibly soft bathrobe, slippers, and special panties for the treatment. And I’ll be completely honest with you: these panties are basically made of nothing. Well, almost nothing. But don’t worry – they don’t feel uncomfortable at all.
A bathroom that looks like

Before we started, Vinka from Cosmos Cosmetic showed me around the premises. And the bathroom alone? Wow.
Completely in black marble. Elegant, clean, luxurious – exactly my vibe. I also got to see the treatment room. And even there, everything was designed for tranquility. Subdued lighting. A relaxed atmosphere. That feeling of „You don’t have to do anything here.“
There are also other rooms, a training room, and a reception area, which are currently being furnished – but trust me: when you see the pictures, you can already imagine how incredibly beautiful it will all be. And I love that. When you can tell that someone really has a vision.
But what is Brazilian lymphatic drainage?

Okay, let’s talk briefly about what Brazilian lymphatic drainage actually is – because I know many of you are probably wondering that right now.
Brazilian lymphatic drainage is an intensive, specialized form of lymphatic massage that originated in Brazil and is primarily known for making the body appear visibly more defined, firmer, and lighter. Unlike classic lymphatic drainage, which is usually performed very gently and with a medical focus, Brazilian lymphatic drainage is significantly more intensive.
This is where real work is done.
The goal is to eliminate water retention from the body, stimulate blood circulation, release adhesions in the tissue, and make the body’s contours more defined. That means: less bloated, less heavy, less of that feeling of „Why do I suddenly feel ten kilos heavier today?“
Regular lymphatic drainage is usually very gentle and is often used after surgery or for medical purposes. Brazilian lymphatic drainage, on the other hand, works much deeper. It almost sculpts the body. And I’ll tell you honestly: You can feel the difference.

I opted for the full body treatment. Go big or go home.
And the atmosphere during the treatment alone was incredibly relaxing. The lighting, the music, the mood – everything was completely calming. And then it began. And I’ll be honest with you: I’d forgotten that Brazilian lymphatic drainage can sometimes sting a bit. It’s not bad. But you can definitely tell that they’re working.
Vinka from Cosmos Cosmetic sometimes has to go really deep into the tissue to release adhesions. And that can be briefly uncomfortable. Especially if your body has a lot of tension or water retention. But – and I really want to emphasize this – you absolutely don’t have to be afraid.
It’s not pain that makes you think, „Oh God, I can’t stand this.“ It’s more like that brief sting where you realize: Ah, okay, something’s actually happening here. And afterward, you feel SO much better. It’s not for nothing that my mother always said: Beauty is pain. And somehow, sometimes it’s true after all.

What made my experience at Cosmos Cosmetic so special was Vinka herself.
She guided me through the entire treatment. With breathing techniques, little explanations, soothing words – and lots of chatting in between. We talked so much that time just flew by. And I think that makes all the difference. You don’t feel like just a number. But truly cared for. Especially with a Brazilian lymphatic drainage massage, which can sometimes be quite intense, that makes an incredible difference.
My arms? Hell. But heavenly afterwards.
And now we come to the part that completely surprised me.

Seriously.
