„A little progress each day adds up to big results.“- Satya Nani; Hypershape
invitation
Let’s be honest with each other today. Really honest. No fitness motivational quotes, no Instagram filters, and no more of that constant „You just need to be disciplined enough.“
The truth is: We humans are lazy. Or to put it more kindly—we like efficiency. We want to achieve our goals, but preferably as quickly, as comfortably as possible, and ideally without spending two hours in the gym every day. And that’s exactly where hypershape comes in.
For almost two years now, hypershape has been transforming bodies in a way that feels a bit like futuristic technology. No crowded gyms, no sweat, no constantly counting reps. Instead, you lie down, relax – and while you do, technology works in the background to activate your muscles and burn calories. Sounds almost too good to be true, right? That’s exactly why I wanted to try it out for myself.
Today, I’m taking you along on my visit to hypershape in Vienna – and I’ll tell you honestly what this experience is really like.
a location that impresses
from the moment you arrive
Before we even talk about technique or training, we need to briefly discuss the location. Because sometimes the first impression determines whether you feel comfortable in a place or not. The hypershape studio is super centrally located, just a few minutes from Schwedenplatz. Anyone who knows Vienna knows: it doesn’t get much more central than that. The studio itself is on the second floor of a beautiful historic building. And I have to admit – the elevator immediately caught my eye.
Perhaps it’s because the engineer in me is still lurking somewhere deep inside, but I love details like that. Old buildings, historic elevators, this blend of past and modern use. Somehow, it instantly piqued my interest. Once you get upstairs, you immediately understand why the studio is on the second floor. It’s quiet, private, and bright at the same time. No one can see in from the outside, and you even have a glimpse of the Danube Canal.
A perfect combination of a central location and a relaxed atmosphere.
First impressions count
– even in the studio
Let me be perfectly honest: When I enter a place, first impressions are crucial.
And I think that’s true for all of us. We judge restaurants, hotels, cafés, or studios within seconds. What does it smell like? What does it look like? How does the space feel? And that’s precisely why I was so pleasantly surprised. At hypershape, you immediately notice that someone has put a lot of thought into it. The decor is modern, clean, and yet warm. Nothing feels random or thrown together. Everything has its place.
The space feels more like a boutique studio than a typical gym. And I personally love that. Because let’s be honest: If we’re going to take care of our bodies, we want to do it in an environment where we feel comfortable.
I received an incredibly warm welcome – and I really mean that. It was one of those moments where you realize that the people there aren’t just doing their jobs, but genuinely enjoy what they do. The lovely Lea gave me a tour of the studio, and she was absolutely sweet. You could immediately tell that she was truly passionate about fitness, health, and this whole concept. She told me that many people use hypershape because it’s so incredibly easy to integrate into their daily routine. Some drop by during their lunch break. Others simply lie down after work. Some watch Netflix while they’re there. Others are even sitting in an online university lecture.
And all the while, their bodies are working. Calories are being burned. Muscles are being activated. Honestly – it’s a dream come true.
What is actually behind hypershape?
– more than just technology
Of course, I wanted to know exactly how hypershape works.
Because as relaxing as it all sounds, something must be happening behind the scenes. The studio uses various technologies that specifically activate muscles, support metabolism, and stimulate the body. The best-known treatment is the so-called magnetic impulse training. This uses electromagnetic impulses to trigger muscle contractions—significantly more intensely than in a traditional workout.
For comparison: During a normal workout, a muscle might make a few hundred contractions. With this technology, it can be several thousand. And that’s precisely why hypershape is so appealing to many people.
Essentially, the body continues to work during the treatment, even while you’re simply lying down and relaxing. This is precisely what makes hypershape so appealing to many: it makes it much easier to combine training with everyday life. Instead of scheduling long sessions at the gym, short sessions that specifically activate certain muscle groups are sufficient. Technology takes over some of the work – efficiently, easily, and perfectly suited to a busy daily routine.
magnetic impulse training
– the original hypershape treatment
Magnetic impulse training was actually the first treatment offered at hypershape. And that’s exactly what I tried. A session lasts about 20 minutes, and you can treat one or two body areas at the same time. The studio has several cabins, so up to six people can train simultaneously—but everyone still has their own space. Of course, I immediately had to ask: Which area is trained most? The answer came without hesitation.
The abs.
And as someone who goes to the gym relatively regularly, I can absolutely relate. Because let’s be honest: Abdominal training is… exhausting. It’s probably the exercise I skip most often. Not because I don’t think it’s important. But simply because it’s annoying.
And that’s precisely why hypershape could be an exciting solution for many people.
the other treatments at hypershape
– technology on another level
In addition to magnetic impulse training, hypershape offers other exciting technologies.
One of them is IHHT. This stands for Intermittent Hypoxic-Hyperoxic Training. During this treatment, you breathe alternating oxygen-depleted and oxygen-rich air through a mask. This is intended to activate the metabolism, support cell regeneration, and increase energy production in the body. Many people use IHHT to improve performance or for general health promotion.
Then there are radiofrequency treatments. These use heat energy to stimulate tissue, tighten skin, and promote blood circulation. This combination is particularly popular in the beauty and body treatment sector.
Something many people don’t know: Hypershape also offers a special pelvic floor training chair. And no – it has nothing to do with incontinence. The focus here is on strengthening the hip and pelvic floor muscles. This can not only improve posture but also stabilize the entire core. A detail that shows they truly take a holistic approach.
my first training with hypershape
– technology on another level
So – time for the self-test.
I lay down on the couch and the device was positioned on my stomach. Then I received a short introduction. There are different programs, depending on your goal: Muscle building, Shaping, Relaxation. Since it was my first time at Hypershape, we started slowly with the intensity.
First at about 30 percent. And I’ll be honest with you: You can feel it. Not painful. But intense. Your stomach contracts rhythmically, almost as if you were constantly doing sit-ups – only without having to move. In the end, we were at about 50 percent intensity. And yes… my stomach was definitely working.
Many people are probably wondering: Does it hurt? The answer is quite clear: No.
It’s more of an unusual sensation. Your muscles are working, but at the same time, you’re just lying there relaxed. It feels a bit like your body is working out while your mind is taking a break. And that’s exactly what makes hypershape so special. You don’t have to sweat. You don’t have to push yourself. You just have to be there.
The highlight after training
lymphatic drainage
And now for something that really impressed me.
After every workout at hypershape, you get 20 minutes of free lymphatic drainage. Yes, really. This treatment is incredibly popular right now – and for good reason. Lymphatic drainage helps remove fluids from the body, reduce swelling, and stimulate metabolism. You have two options: Lymphatic hoses or a massage chair. I tried the lymphatic hoses. And I can only say: incredibly relaxing.
While lying in the lymphatic hoses, you can also have light therapy. Red or blue light. These light frequencies are often used to support skin processes or reduce inflammation. So it’s not just a workout – it’s almost a mini spa experience. And that’s exactly what I particularly liked about hypershape.
The atmosphere. Everything is calm, relaxed, and pleasant. No hustle and bustle. No stress. Just you and your own body.
my summary
– an easy way to boost your body
I went to HyperShape because I was curious. Because I wanted to know if this technology really works. And because, frankly, I’m always open to new approaches when it comes to health and fitness. My impression? It’s definitely not a substitute for an active lifestyle. But it’s an incredibly exciting addition. Especially for people who have little time. Or for those muscle groups we all tend to neglect.
And let’s be honest:
If technology can help us reach our goals a little more easily – why shouldn’t we use it?
Sometimes the smartest path isn’t the hardest. Sometimes it’s simply the most efficient. And that’s precisely why hypershape could be the little cheat code we’re all secretly looking for. For me, hypershape isn’t a replacement for exercise, but a pretty ingenious addition. Especially for areas like the abs, which are often neglected at the gym. The combination of technology, a relaxed atmosphere, and effective sessions makes hypershape a modern shortcut—not to the perfect body, but definitely to faster results.
