„I only drink Champagne on two occasions, when I am in love and when I am not.“ – Coco Chanel, Neue Hoheit
There are restaurants that are just restaurants – and then there are places like the „Neue Hoheit“ in Vienna. High above the city’s historic rooftops, this extraordinary restaurant combines fine brasserie cuisine with a rooftop bar that serves not only drinks but also breathtaking views. But is the „Neue Hoheit“ truly Vienna’s new culinary crown? I tested it for you.

The location: elegance meets panorama
The „Neue Hoheit“ is located on the sixth and seventh floors of the Rosewood Vienna Hotel – an address synonymous with luxury and understatement. Upon entering the brasserie, you’ll immediately notice that classic Viennese elegance meets modern design elements. Large windows flood the space with light, while muted colors and high-quality materials create a pleasantly stylish atmosphere. A particular eye-catcher is the open kitchen, which offers a direct view of the dining scene – a true highlight for foodies!
“ … a pleasantly stylish atmosphere.“
The real highlight? The rooftop bar on the seventh floor. Up here, Vienna stretches out before guests‘ eyes like a painting. Whether at sunset or under the sea of lights at night, this place has the potential to become one of the best sundowner spots in the city.

The kitchen: Viennese tradition with a modern twist
The menu at the „Neue Hoheit“ presents a sophisticated blend of brasserie classics and modern interpretations of Viennese cuisine. Chef Bernhard Stocker focuses on high-quality ingredients and thoughtful compositions – without losing sight of the down-to-earth nature of the dish.
Before we began our appetizers, bread and butter were served. Everything was homemade, of course. For our starter, we ordered the snails with herb butter at the Neue Hoheit. For our main course, I chose the „Neue Hoheit Pasta.“ It consisted of strozzapreti, chestnuts, wild mushrooms, and cranberries. A true work of art in itself. We also ordered the 200g Austrian beef fillet. As a side dish, we had celery cream and a grilled king oyster mushroom. Delicious, you’d have to bite into it!

Sweet finale: dessert dreams come true
What would a perfect dinner be without a crowning dessert? The „Neue Hoheit“ patisserie leaves nothing to be desired. Pastry Chef Manuel Demmin conjures up sweet creations that impress both visually and tastefully. I especially recommend the Cheesecake Mouse. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a beautiful dessert in my life, and the taste was simply exquisite.
Let’s move on to the drinks of the evening. To start the evening, we ordered the rose champagne. Very delicious and subtle, and fitting for this restaurant. Princess feeling! To end the evening, we ordered pornstar martinis, which were also excellent in terms of both appearance and taste. I would say that Pornstar Martinis are THE IT-Cocktail of all time. I always order it, no matter where I am.

my summary
“Is it worth a visit?”
Definitely! The „Neue Hoheit“ is far more than just a hotel restaurant. It combines Viennese charm with international flair – and does so at a high level. Anyone who wants to enjoy good food, a stylish ambiance, and one of the best views in the city should definitely stop by here. The feeling is that you’re sitting in an upscale restaurant, yet still feels comfortable and cozy. A new culinary hotspot in Vienna? I would say: yes, absolutely!
