„Travel and change of place impart new vigor to the mind.“ – Seneca, Travel Essentials
product placement
There are weekends when you just need a little escape from everyday life. Get out of the rut, into a hotel bed with fluffy pillows, breakfast à la carte, and a glass of champagne in hand – ideally with a view of the mountains or the sea. I’m talking about a luxurious weekend getaway – not overly decadent, but just a little „extra.“ And so you don’t forget anything on your next little getaway (and still travel in style), here are my travel essentials that will get you through your weekend getaway relaxed, organized, and in style.
1. Weekender instead of suitcase
– the bag makes the look 🧳
One bag is usually enough for a weekend, but not just any bag. If you travel with a simple, high-quality weekender, you’ll make the right statement at check-in. It’s that „I know what I’m doing“ feeling that a well-chosen piece of luggage can convey – without being loud. A bit understated, but with attitude. And the practical thing about it: You have everything at your fingertips. No annoying rolling of the trolley over cobblestones, no arguing about whether hand luggage is okay. Just pack your bag and go. It´s the perfect first travel essentials.

2. Skincare & Beauty
– your mini break deserves care 💆♀️🧴
Just because it’s a short trip doesn’t mean you have to skip your self-care routine. I always pack my travel-sized beauty favorites. These are a must-have:
• A good hydrating mask (e.g., from Summer Fridays or Susanne Kaufmann) – perfect for after your trip

• My glow serum and eye cream, because you want to look fresh, even if you haven’t had much sleep

• A signature fragrance – I love wearing a different scent for each trip. This way, the weekend will be remembered olfactorily as well

• And of course: sunscreen, whether in the city or the mountains! It´s always has to be a must have in your daily routine

As for makeup, I keep it minimal – skin tint, cream blush, mascara, lip balm. That’s it. After all, you want to glow, not your foundation cake. What are your favorite skin care travel essentials?
3. Small organizers, big difference ✨💍
Another thing I’d never want to be without: a beautiful jewelry organizer. I used to let my earrings fly around loose in my bag or simply stack necklaces together – chaos guaranteed. Now I have a small, soft travel case with compartments and hooks that keeps everything neatly organized. The same goes for cosmetics: an aesthetic, well-structured toiletry bag not only makes packing more pleasant, but simply feels better when you put it on the vanity in a hotel. I have one in nude tones with gold zippers – every time I open it, it feels a bit like a mini spa moment. And that’s kind of what it’s all about: feeling at home on the go, only a little bit more chic.
4. Small technical items
– but please keep them organized 📱🎧🔌
Nothing ruins the feeling of luxury quite like a dead battery or fiddling with cables. That’s why I always bring:
Everything goes in its own tech case so I don’t have to search for it for long. Some useful travel essentials.
5. Extra touches – that certain something ✨
What sets a luxurious weekend trip apart from a normal one are often the little things:
• A small travel candle – instantly conjures up hotel vibes
• Your favorite playlist for the journey
• A good book or a nice notebook to jot down your thoughts
• And most importantly: snacks. Yes, really. Chocolate in a pretty wrapper, almonds in a glass jar, whatever makes you feel good. Luxury also means pampering yourself.
My Summary
Luxury travel starts with you
A luxury weekend getaway doesn’t have to be a 5-star resort in Tuscany (although… that would be nice). It’s more about consciously taking time to treat yourself – and doing it in style. With the right essentials in your luggage, the enjoyment begins with the packing. So: grab your bag, put on your playlist, and off you go. 💼🍸🌅
Where will your next weekend trip take you?
