Vani´s Wishlist July – insider summer essential

VaniVanity_Wishlist July

Welcome to my very own wishlist for July 2025!

July feels like 80% sunscreen, 10% iced coffee, and 10% „What should I wear for a sundowner?“ – and this wishlist is curated with exactly that in mind. Here are my personal favorites for midsummer, between city heat, beach days, and little escapes from everyday life. Inspired by the lightness of an afternoon in Positano, a spritz on a rooftop terrace in Rome, or a spontaneous weekend trip to Lake Garda. Bella Italia – but in mood board form for my wishlist.

The beach bag of my dreams:

Polène “Cyme” in canvas & leather

For me, the Cyme by Polène is the upgrade of all beach bags. It’s clean, but not boring. Chic, but not overly fancy. And most importantly: so well-thought-out that you won’t spend 10 minutes rummaging around for your keys or lip balm. The combination of natural-colored canvas and smooth leather is a dream – it doesn’t scream „I’m expensive,“ but it whispers it quite convincingly. And the best part: It goes just as well with linen trousers on the way to the office as it does with a bikini and sarong on the way to the beach club. My number 1 on my wishlist!

I’ve already mentally taken it with me to Istria, Lake Wörthersee, and on a boat in Apulia – all that’s missing is the right summer adventure.

Summer at every step:

Mules by Mango

I’m deep in my mule phase. And Mango is to blame. The current styles? Wow. Whether it’s a delicate mesh look with a Y2K touch or clean thong mules that scream „Céline 2018“ – I want them all. And I wear them with everything: wide-legged trousers, a satin dress, shorts, even a bikini with an oversized shirt over it.

They’re the kind of shoes you can slip on spontaneously in the morning – and still feel like you’ve thought through your look. My current favorite: black mesh mules with a mini heel. Comfortable enough for a summer party. Chic enough for a dinner date. Definitely on my wishlist for July.

SPF with Glow:

Supergoop! Glowscreen SPF 40

I admit: I’ve become a sunscreen snob. And Supergoop!’s Glowscreen has completely ruined my day. No whitening effect, no risk of breakouts, no greasy look – just a subtle glow that looks like „I just spent half an hour strolling through Florence, ice cream in hand, and a happy face.“

I would wear it alone or under a very light foundation – it’s basically like a soft-focus sunscreen. And especially on days when I don’t really want to wear makeup (like… basically every day when it’s over 30 degrees Celsius), it would be my go-to. Is it also on your wishlist?

Linen love from House of CB:

The “Carmen Dress”

Yes, the name is international – but the vibe is totally Italian: The Carmen Dress by House of CB looks as if you’re walking barefoot on terracotta tiles, holding a cold limoncello in your hand. The fabric is light, the cut relaxed, but with that certain „oh wow“ factor. The flowing skirt with a flirty leg slit, the perfect bodice, and the cups for the breasts – simply elegant and romantic. The dress is available in so many different colors that it’s hard to decide which one is best.

I’m would wear it with gold hoop earrings and tanned skin – the look is complete, and it’s just as suitable for a market visit in Tuscany as it is for dinner on a rooftop terrace in Naples.

Iced coffee aesthetics:

Glass straws in pastel

Is there anything better than iced coffee on a hot day? Yes – iced coffee that looks like it came from an Instagram-worthy café in Milan. Tranquillo´s glass straws are my little summer ritual. I have them in various pastel shades and love how they instantly make even the most boring kitchen counter look cool.

They’re reusable (yay sustainability), easy to clean, and even transform a boring tap water-with-lemon moment into a mini-event.

Jewelry with beach vibes:

Paola Sighinolfi shell earrings

Sometimes all you need is a pair of earrings that smell of the sea (well, almost). Paola Sighinolfi’s delicate shell earrings are like the sunset in a piece of jewelry. Delicate gold, fine details – not kitsch, but a subtle touch of boho that looks perfect on warm necks.

I would wear them with white tops, undone hair, and that feeling of „I’ll just quickly go down to the water before it gets dark.“

Scent of summer:

Maison Margiela “Replica – Beach Walk”

If a scent can preserve memories, then Beach Walk is my personal USB drive for the perfect summer day. It smells of warm skin, a mix of sunscreen and salt water, with a hint of citrus and a touch of musk. Not overpowering, but absolutely present.

I would spray it on in the morning and immediately would feel like I’m on my way to the beach. It’s the epitome of „not taking yourself too seriously, but still smelling damn good.“

For balcony evenings & picnics:

Wine glasses from Ferm Living

There are glasses – and then there are these glasses. Ferm Living makes it easy to bring the feeling of Aperitivo Hour in Italy home. The shape is elegant, the design minimalist, but full of character. I love them for rosé with ice cubes (yes, I said what I said), for homemade lemonade, or simply as a decorative piece on the table.
And honestly: If the wine isn’t expensive, at least the glass can be fancy, right?

Visual Wanderlust:

Greek Islands Picture Book (Assouline)

Okay, let’s take a quick detour to Greece—but only because this illustrated book is so incredibly beautiful. Greek Islands by Assouline isn’t just a coffee table book; it’s a journey. In pictures. Without the jet lag.

Turquoise water, whitewashed houses, ouzo on terraces overlooking the sea—as you leaf through it, you feel the wind, hear seagulls, and immediately want to leave. I love having it open on my coffee table. It reminds me that beauty is everywhere—and that the next trip is just a decision away.

For the ultimate body glow:

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Or

Some products are simply timeless classics. Nuxe’s Huile Prodigieuse Or is just that – a shimmering dry oil that not only nourishes your skin, but transforms it into pure sunlight. I apply it to my shoulders, collarbones, legs… sometimes a little on my décolleté or over makeup.

The effect? Instant: „Just got off the boat, now on my way to the beach bar.“ The scent is subtle and warm, the shimmer subtle. No glitter overkill, just the right amount of glow to make you look like a vacation goddess. And maybe someone already knows this product because I already mentioned it in a blog post

And that was it – my July wishlist. Full of little escapes, summer vibes, and just the right things to breathe a little bit of Dolce Vita into everyday life. Maybe not quite Italy – but definitely a version of it that feels good.
If you’ve already tried any of these or have your own summer favorites – write to me. I love discovering new treasures. And who knows… maybe there will be an August edition soon: „Still not ready for reality.“
Xoxo, Vani
