Weform Reformer Pilates – the new art of sport

„Every day is a good day to do pilates“; Weform Vienna

invitation

I have to confess something: There have been a few moments in Pilates class where I’ve thought, „Oh my God. I’m literally the only person here who can’t do this exercise at all.“ Everyone else seems to be moving with the grace of dancers who started ballet at age five, while I’m stuck somewhere between „Why are my legs shaking so much?“ and „Can someone please fast-forward the time?“

And don’t get me wrong – I really love Pilates. That feeling afterward, when you realize your body has worked. That slightly stretched, strong feeling. But group classes? Not always my thing. Especially not when you just want to train at your own pace. Without the feeling of constantly having to keep up. Without that little inner pressure. And that’s exactly why I was SO happy when I discovered weform in Vienna. Because suddenly there was the perfect solution for everyone who loves Pilates – but prefers to train in peace and quiet.

I almost bought

a reformer for home use

I’ll be honest: I was seriously considering buying a Pilates reformer for home use. Yes, really.

Because I thought: Then I can train completely relaxed, no one’s watching, I can repeat exercises ten times if I don’t get them right, and if I look like a cross between a bewildered giraffe and human-sized muscle soreness during a movement – at least no one will see.

But then weform came along. And I immediately thought: Okay, wow. This is literally exactly what I’ve been looking for. Because with weform, everything is completely straightforward. You simply book your desired time slot online, receive your QR code, and can easily go.

No stress. No complicated procedures. No awkward situations. Just go, work out, and go home. And sometimes, these simple concepts are the best.

A little hidden away

– but that’s exactly what makes it charming

The weform studio is located in Vienna’s 6th district – and there’s something really cool about this location. It’s not a huge fitness center with harsh lights and crowds of people. Instead, it feels like you know a little hidden gem in the city. It’s on the first floor of a beautiful apartment building – and that alone creates a great atmosphere.

You arrive, scan your QR code at the door, and you can go straight in. Completely uncomplicated. Completely modern. Without that classic „Hello, this is reception“ gym feeling. I love that. It immediately feels much more relaxed. And somehow a bit more exclusive. Almost like you’ve just discovered a little wellness secret right in the heart of Vienna

The moment you walk in, you notice: weform is simply cool. Not in a forced way. Not that „we desperately want to be trendy“ vibe. But genuinely well done. Modern. Stylish. A bit minimalist. But still warm. Right by the entrance, there’s a small waiting area that feels incredibly cozy. You immediately feel at ease. Then there’s a cloakroom where you can change, and of course, lockers where you can safely store your belongings.

A nice bonus for people like me who always seem to bring five things too many. There are also one bathroom and one separate toilet, which some people use directly for changing. And somehow, I absolutely loved this relaxed atmosphere. Nothing feels hectic. No one stresses you out. No one stares at you. And that’s exactly what makes weform so pleasant.

Behind the green double doors

awaits the main character moment

And then comes that moment. The green double doors. It almost felt like something out of a movie. Because behind them lies the large reformer room.

A beautiful, bright room with all the equipment – clean, modern, and somehow incredibly motivating. You know that feeling when a room instantly makes you want to do something? Exactly like that. And there’s a monitor next to every piece of equipment. Because that’s where the weform concept comes in: Your trainer isn’t waiting in person. Your trainer, or rather your guide, is via video. And I have to say: I thought that was brilliant. Really. Because that’s precisely what creates this relaxed feeling of being able to train completely at your own pace.

No awkward group dynamics. No comparisons. No stress. Just you and your Pilates class.

What I also found really practical:

You can either bring your own headphones or simply use the ones provided. And now for the fun part. Of course, I’d forgotten mine. Classic me. But: The headphones there were, funnily enough, exactly the same ones I have at home. So that was absolutely perfect for me. Just put them on, start the video, and get going. And suddenly you completely block out everything around you. You’re kind of in your own little world. Almost meditative.

And even though there are other people in the room, you hardly notice them. Which is honestly perfect for introverted gym girls—or just people who prefer to train in peace and quiet.

Thanks to Hannah

for the relaxed introduction

That day I also had a short introduction from the lovely Hannah.

And you’ll actually see her later in the video. I found it really helpful because it gives you a real feel for everything. How does the reformer work? What’s the class like? Where do you find what? And suddenly everything seems incredibly easy. Especially if you’ve never done reformer Pilates before. Because let’s be honest: the equipment does look a bit intimidating at first. But as soon as you get the hang of it, you immediately realize how intuitive everything actually is. And that’s exactly what I liked about weform. It feels modern – but not at all intimidating.

What I find really cool:

There’s a wide selection of different classes. And that’s exactly what makes weform so exciting. Because you can decide what you’re in the mood for each time. Do you want to train your arms and abs? Prefer legs and glutes? More stretching? More core work? Or just try something completely new?

I love concepts like this. Because you’re not always doing the same thing. And because it makes training much more motivating. I find variation especially important in Pilates. Because otherwise, at some point you realize: Okay, my body already knows these movements. And that’s exactly why I think it’s great that you can set different priorities at weform.

My barre class…

and my death muscle soreness

I had decided to take the Barre class that day, by the way. And guys. I’ll be honest with you: I was naive. Very naive. Because I thought: Oh, it’s a little ballet-inspired. How bad can it be? Spoiler alert: VERY.

Barre is based on ballet movements—elegant, controlled, beautiful to watch. But holy shit. The next day, I had muscle soreness that was beyond normal. My glutes? Dead. My abs? Dead. My arms? Dead too. I suddenly remembered that muscles existed that I didn’t even know I had. But in a good way. The kind of muscle soreness where you realize: Okay. My body has been working.

And that’s exactly why I love Pilates so much. It never feels like that aggressive workout where you get completely wrecked. But more like: I’ve just done something really good for my body. And yet you can still feel it. A lot. More than a lot.

What I also find great:

The videos are available in both German and English. So it’s really completely straightforward. You can simply choose whichever you’re more comfortable with. And it’s precisely these little details that often make a big difference for me. Because you can tell that thought has been put into it. That it’s meant to be accessible. And uncomplicated. Exactly how fitness should be. Especially in a city like Vienna, where people come from such diverse backgrounds.

No awkward ending

like in the gym

And you know what I liked almost the most? That uncomplicated ending.

After class, you simply take off your headphones, grab a disinfectant wipe, wipe everything down, maybe put away any weights or the ball—and just leave. No awkward small talk. No „Okay, now what?“ No uncomfortable situation. Just done.

And somehow, I absolutely loved that relaxed feeling. It just fits the whole concept of weform. Modern. Self-paced. Uncomplicated.

Who is WEFORM perfect for?

Honestly? For everyone who loves Pilates – but sometimes just wants some peace and quiet. For everyone who doesn’t always feel comfortable in groups. For everyone who prefers to train at their own pace. For everyone who’s ever thought to themselves in a class: „Why can everyone else do it but me?“

Because I can tell you: You are definitely not alone. And that’s exactly why I think WEFORM is so cool. You train for yourself. Without pressure. Without comparisons. Without that feeling of having to perform. And yet you still feel motivated. Almost a little empowered.

my summary

Pilates without pressure – and that’s exactly why I love it

I honestly didn’t think I’d like this concept so much.

But I think that’s exactly what makes weform so special. It’s Pilates, but different. More modern. More relaxed. More personal. And above all, at a pace that truly suits you. Especially in a city like Vienna, where everything often has to be fast-paced, I found this hour incredibly calming.

No stress. No comparisons. No insecurity. Just movement. A beautiful space. And that feeling of having done something for yourself. So, if you’ve been considering Reformer Pilates for a while, but don’t always feel comfortable in groups or prefer to train on your own – then you should definitely check out weform. I, for one, already know: That definitely wasn’t my last time.
